Benq MX 518 Projector

Dear all, I Finalised my Purchase plans for Benq MX 518, for Rs 37k in Mumbai. thi is XGA projector with HDMi and 3d Ready. I need further Inputs. Kindlly advice. Also i need to Purchase 3d glasses. whats the Diffference between Active DLP glasses and Active Shutter Glasses? Please advice. thanks

XGA resolution is 1024*768. Look for WXGA 1280*800 projectors. There is one viewsonic led projector for 42K in flipkart. For 3D to work you need additional 3D kit like nvidia 3D vision and it will work with PC only.

For ur budget pls do look at wxga(1280x800) projectors... There are a few options available such as benq 516@40k(atleast I think that's the model number) & epson tw480 @42-44k... also there are a few led wxga models too in this range like the acer k330@37k which I like... 3D is not available out of the box & would require a 20k extra investment on ur part whichever projector u choose... My personal preference would be the epson tw480 which is a dedicated entertainment projector rather than buying a business projector like u are buying...

Sir, I had demo of 3D, I played SBS format, MKV file with my BD player, this projector doesn't require external convertors,

How did you play SBS 3D in the projector? My Sony 3D TV has the option to select sbs and the tv will display 3d movies. Is there any such option in the projector to select 3D mode?

also consider optoma hd 66..maybe little costly like 43k...but very nice at that price

There are built in 3d settings in projector menu 1. TAB, 2 SBS and 2 other options are there, since my MKV format file is is SBS type, selected SBS type and the movie projected in 3d mode. I know the resolutions is upto 720p, I am okay with it as my viewing distance will be only 8feet as of now.

Actually for 8 feet viewing distance, you'd gain from a full HD image instead (depending on the screen size too, ie the bigger the screen the more noticable difference in 720 and 1080p). 720p is fine if the distance is more. The further you go away from the screen, the more difficult it is to notice the lack of higher resolution. But in the end, its your budget that matters. Ofcourse you'll get better and better quality as you increase the budget. Just need to find the perfect balance where you are fine with both the quality and price paid
