What is generally considered to be the best audio/video source for use when streaming movies, say as in from a projector or from a car stereo unit? Assuming the same quality of file on each source of course...

USB? SD card? CD?

I'm assuming that a direct HDMI input or VGA input direct from the video source is the better choice, but I'm looking for something that offers portable storage of the movies as well.

Thank you!

My way is to store these files on a computer or a nas device and then use a network enabled device to play it wirelessly. For example my blu ray player is network enabled and will automatically detect and show a shared drive of a device also connected to the same network. So I can just play a file on the listed folder. Many receivers also do this. One thing here is that u better have a fast router esp for large files a gigabit router would b ideal.
One thing I have wanted to do is play a file on my computer/cellphone and have it streamed directly to my receiver or pj. I gather this is possible with dlna but haven't been able to do it. Would want to hear from others who are doing this.
