Better speakers?

I own these bookshelf speakers which I'm not too happy about.

Edifier R1000

They seem to be sold only in some countries (I'm in Italy).

You'll find technical data on that link (which I barely understand).

My question is whether these other speakers coupled with a cheap amp would mean a considerable step up in sound quality, for the price.

I think these speakers were reviewed at tnt-audio and the reviews were favourable. The Scythe amplifiers would match very well with these. I had the first Scythe amp and for the price, it was brilliant!! I bought it at that time based on glowing reviews at tnt-audio. It didn't dissapoint.

Yes, reviews are good per se, but I wnat to buy them only if they represent a consistent upgrade over those I have already.
