So, I subscribed to Adobe lightroom Rs 380/month plan. Recently I decided to cancel the plan as I didn't use it much. So, I went to adobe account and tried to cancel it. Shockingly it asked for Rs 955.80 to cancel as it is a agreement I made with them apparently when I subscribed to their plan which is a yearly plan as per them. The mistake is in my part. I should have read the T&C well. This post is just to caution you people if you wanted to go with adobe plans and might want to cancel midway.

Adobe has a very strange customer policy. I use their Acrobat and Photoshop licences at work.

They had no problem with cutting their local dealer at the time of placing the subscription. When I insisted on working through the dealer (since we have a long relationship) they refused to budge on their price and I had to pay more to accommodate the dealer's margin. On the whole this was a low quality move on their part and I am not surprised to see something like this. Someone at Adobe needs to fix their customer relations.

Adobe's licensing policy has been baffling for years now. Smacks of arrogance.
The good news is that most Adobe products and their functionality have free or much cheaper alternatives, sometimes even better.

Adobe subscription policies are pretty scammy. If you have to sub to them, try and do it through Apple / Google. That way, the pricing and actual terms would be more transparent.

I had a photoshop+lightroom license for a long time but then decided to cut ties. I did a smart thing to ensure I didn't get charged scummy fees by this company - I just reported that the card on file is lost. Got a new card with a different number. Adobe kept trying to charge the old card and failed multiple times and then gave up :)

It is always good to maintain relationship with our trusted dealer than a scammy corporate :)

Yeah. I am look at other options now. Photomator with one time subscription seems attractive for a long term user like me.
