Hello...I have been wanting to move on to a better stereo set up, than the stock front speakers that came with the Onkyo 3300 HTiB.

I will start auditioning these this month. I have decided to start with either the Norge 2600/1000 and the Cambridge Audio S30,or the Wharfadale 9.2. But please suggest other Book Shelves and Amplifiers within the same range.

Budget is 20-25k.

Also do the Norge Amps have a digital in and a DAC inside ?

one thing did not understand..why do u need amp as u plan to replace ur suppplied front with 3300 set.so u just need spkr..why amp?
in fact i was also planning to replace the front...thats why asking

AFAIK, Norge amplifiers do not have Digital in.

Invest your current budget, in a good bookshelf speakers and look for an used integrated amplifier initially. Get a matching amp for your speakers subsequently.

Another option is to use the B Speaker terminal of Onkyo HT-S3300 until you get a dedicated stereo amplifier.

I plan to start off exactly like that. Can somebody suggest Book Shelves to match the Onkyo 3300 in the upto 15k range.

I already have plans to listen to the CA S30 and the Wharf 9.2. Anything else I may not be aware of in that range ?

Hi,

Onkyo AVR gives good sound output when I connect my Paradigm Titan Monitors (Speakers Position B). But, then I opted for dedicated system with DAC (through Xonar Essence STX card) + Denon Amp.

Looking towards your budget, go for NORGE amp + Warf (Bookshelf speakers). You will never get the warmth of dedicated amplifier through AVR.

Setup: Samsung 32LED + Onkyo-HTS3300, Xtreamer / Paradigm Titans Monitors + Denon-PMA-510AE + Asus Xonar Essence STX.

Yesterday, I went to Audio Planet in Koramangala and spent a very pleasant hour there. I listened to Cambridge Audio S30 and the Monitor Audio MR 1 played through a high end Cambridge Audio Amp. I forgot the exact model number. This being my first ever 'real' listening experience was a good one. I wasn't rushed to finish the audition as my other experiences had been. In other places the people get very impatient and irritated. Mr Pallani and staff were very patient allowing me to play my tracks on my Cowon Media Player.

Then I went to Vector Systems on Brigade Road today hoping to listen to the much talked about Wharf and Norge Combo. But as it turns out, they no longer deal with Wharfadales and Norge. I was offered the demo piece wharf 8.1 for 11k. My experience with them wasn't good. They seemed interested to get their demo stock out of the way when they saw me. Anyway they would start dealing with Heco Audio in a couple of weeks and have taken my contact details. I have read decent reviews of them and am looking forward to it.

I know some folks here have already bought speakers from Heco. Any inputs from them would be highly desirable.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
