Genreally masters given to Indian companies to make copies are not at par in AV quality comparing US / Europe regions

Should be same for Australia I guess

It holds true for Audio cds / DVD's so should be same for Blu-rays as well

I think (dont know for sure) that only local content (hindi/regional)
would be authored here.

Are you saying that the Indian companies are given the HD source for English movies to create the blu-rays here and that HD source may be of lower quality?
Do you know this for a fact?

thanks

About Indian DVDS of Hollywood Films ( Dont know about Blu Ray)

Picture quality of orignal US version was better
Also US version used to have extras or sometimes bonus disc(s)
Many times Indian DVD's were without DTS encoding

My experience is only with DVD's and I am assuming the same implies to blu-rays as well
Maybe in this starting stage of blu-rays the quality of all regions would be same
But with regard to DVD's Region 1 were the best in sound and video both

i don't know about fact but i think so

u guys are all right about dvds i have a us region dvd which has far better quality than english dvds from here

that's why i'm asking blu-rays quality also differ first of all their packing is very different as compare to packing of blu rays from reliance big pictures

If DVD/BR is showing censor certificate it should be "re-mastered" and re packaged here right?
also least for DVD ,DTS cost ( of copyright) was more ( as per my thinking) so DD was included. also most of the DVD players which decode 5.1 analougue sound ( esp cheaper one) decode DD 5.1 NOT DTS.

ALSO ANYONE CHECKED FILESIZE ON DVD?
Someone told me that indian DVDs are fit into 4.5 GB disc so quality is bad .can anyone confirm?

Legally its not allowed to sell movies which are not censored for India.
So official stores would keep movies censored for India and obviously they would be marketed and made specially for Indian companies
So my guess is that it would be same as its for dvds.
USA region BD would be better in video and audio

Certificate are on packaging, yes, but I don't remember seeing certificates inside English movies on Blu-ray.

This may be true.
Many times the video quality of Indian movie DVDs are of very poor quality,
and when you check the file size it is around 4.4GB.
I think they are making the file size small to accommodate the whole movie in single layer DVD, which is much cheaper than higher capacity double layer dvds.

I regularly rent and watch Indian DVDs ( either English films or Hindi). I have noticed that the size is about 6 to 7 GB. Smaller sizes are usually seen on older English movies which are not that good video quality anyway ( exception being James Bond ones which are digitally remastered) .Most I would say are larger than 4.5 GB.

Hope this info is useful.

Indian Blu-Ray cases may be bad, but the blu rays themselves are not, some of the discs are eu versions( Gladiator, Robin hood 2010, etc) all others have sound and video on par with US or Eu, check out Iron-man 2 blu ray and tell me its inferior :), I have U.S. and Indian versions of some blu rays, Quality is on par. Dvd's were another story.
