Hi,

I am planning to buy a pair of book shelf speakers or loud speakers with a price range not more than Rs. 20000/-
I would probably place it in a 15*15 living room.
My requirement is listening to music and movies.
I am more interested to get more deeper bass and crystal clear sound not to miss any piece of instrument from the audio.
Also the aesthetically glossy finishing to add more beauty to my 32" LCD setup.

After reading some of the threads in this forum I see that most preferred brands as:
Dali
Bowers & Wilkins
wharfedale
Polk

I am not very technical to decide on how much power, frequency, and impedence I should look for to suite my situation.

I could not decide on any model. Also I am not aware of available price ranges and the comparative goods and bads of each mode.

So I would like to hear the experts advice here in this forum..

Which receiver do you have?

In case you don't have a receiver, one of the best bets would be Audioengine A5.

If you have a receiver which drive a decent pair, then consider Wharf 10.2 (Bass) or Monitor Audio (probably mids) or Polk TSI300 (FS).

Dali and b&w wont fit Ur budget.. they tend to be expensive.. however
wharf BS wud be available under 20k..

however not sure bout the glossy finish.. they generally tend to be maroon or matte black in color or probably some woody shades.. however not glossy...(again not sure)

Can you please advice with the price details also for Polk Audio TSi300, Wharfedale Diamond 10.2..?

Does anyone have used Mordauntshort Avant 902i..(I am not sure if it would be available in India and for what price)..?

Also if anyone know where I could get these in Pune or Hyderabad..

Also if you can give me comparison between these two models, it would be easier for me to chose with.

Wharf 10.2 is like 17-18k
Polk TSI300 is like 18-20k from Bass n Treble, Dwarka, Delhi.

You can also consider Wharf 9.3/9.4 whichever model exists. should be around 20-23k or so.

Hai kpit,

You can also consider Mordaunt Short Aviano-2 BS it will cost you <20k, has plenty of Bass.

N.Murali

Why not try MS aviano 2 MRP high than 20K but you might get it for <20K after discount. I aiuditioned with Murali_n.

I dont know where you can get the MS Avant in Hyderabad. I would
like to know myself.

The Polks can be bought from ProFx showroom in Babukhan mall ,somajiguda
and the Wharfs can be bought from Vectors, Lumbini Amrutha Mall, near
nagarjuna circle.

This thread may be of use. My recommendation in that region is definitely the Usher S520. But it's an accurate, detailed, analytical speaker. If you want a 'fun' serving of bass i'd recommend the Wharfedale Diamonds.

Hi Vasu,
Under 20k, only wharfe's (8.2 /9.2 /10.1 upwards) would satisfy the deep bass (40Hz approx lowest) + your other preferences. (you'll get Black matt finish though, not black glossy)

Going by reports of Rear ported 10.1 vs 9.2, I would recommend Wharfe 9.2. Some people have reported 8.2 better than 9.2in terms of overall SQ (without being lesser in bass).

Regds,
