Bookshelf speakers require electricity power?

I m doing interiors at my home... keeping concealed 1" PVC pipe for bookshelf
speakers.. will dat enough for spk.wires?

Also Front towers require power??

Help!

depends on whether you go for active or passive.
Best is to have two channels running - one for signal and another for power. It won't hurt to leave a power outlet close to speaker positions. You may also think about wall mounting, or upgrading to a floorstander later. Also keep provision for 2-4 subwoofers - signal and power outlets as mostly subs are active.

1" PVC pipe will be enough for running speaker wires, and they will terminate where you will keep the amplifier, don't forget that. Looking at your question, I don't think you want to buy active speakers. In case all this active and passive talk is confusing you forget it, the normal setup that most people have are all passive, where the amplifier requires the power source, and then in turn it powers the speakers. So the speaker wires should extend from your home theater rack location where the amplifier would be kept to the final speaker position. and the speakers won't require a power source like a plug point, only the amplifier will.

If you are planning to put a subwoofer, don't forget the cabling for that, I had forgotten and suffered a lot for it, subwoofer placement is tricky, and balancing that with room aesthetics can be very tricky so to be flexible you keep provision in at least 2 places for it. and the subwoofer is active, so it will require a plug point nearby to power it. And also remember subwoofer wires are different from your front speaker wires, ill equipped salesmen in big chain chops like vijay sales/croma may tell you otherwise, so watch out.

bookshelf speakers requires how many wires to plugin 2 or 4?

bookshelf speakers requires how many wires to plugin 2 or 4?

1 wire normally, with two connectors, positive and negative, housed within the same wire and insulated with pvc/plastic. however, if you want bi-wiring you will have to put two sets to each speaker accordingly...again if u r confused, people usually dont do bi-wiring, and the results of bi-wiring also vary from speaker to speaker
