Hi

This is my first post on Hifivision. I have just ordered a Sony PS3 slim 320GB from Singapore. I already have a HD ready Panasonic 42" Plasma. The only thing remains are the speakers. My room is not very big, say 16ft by 14ft.

I visited Croma and Ezone in Mumbai.Among other's, they showed me Denon & Yamaha AVR's and some speakers to go with them. Frankly speaking I was not satisfied with them at all. Then I visited Bose showroom and was BLOWN away by their 2.1 CineMate GS Series 2 system. The sound just filled the whole room ( ofcourse, they have excellent acoustics in there). Even as compared to the non GS model this was WAY better.

So, my question is, is this system worth Rs. 50k+???

I would love to have the alternatives as it overshoots my budget by atleast 10k.

Thanks

Salil

P.S. My usage will be 50% Music/TV & 50% PS3/Blue RAY/DVD

Absolutely not. Buy a pair of good bookshelves and a entry level reciver which will be better than cinemate. Well 3-2-1 or the V series is better than the cinemate which is pathetic

Hi dillihifi

I was under the impression that the difference b/w 3-2-1 & CineMate GS is that 3-2-1 comes with a DVD player. Am I wrong?

Hi hemantwaghe

Could you help me out with some shops I can visit near Andheri? It will be much appreciated.

Furthermore, I found on Ebay, Yamaha RX-V465 5.1 Ch Receiver | 1 Year Mfr Warranty for Rs.21,990/- ( 0% EMI options also available). Should I go with this or can I look for something cheaper too? Like Yamaha YHT-292?. If yes, could you suggest me which speakers should I go for? I think I can start with 2 speakers and keep adding as I go along. Say wat?

There are 3 shops at DN Nagar (2 or 3 mins distance from each other)

Viola , Alliance 4, The Shop

The Shop is slightly tricky to deal with. Thats my personal experience

Move a little ahead, say 15 mins from DN Nagar. Come to Janki Kutir, near Juhu Beach where Prithvi Theatre is situated you will come to Boomarang. They stock some real hi-end stuff. They also have budget offerings like Monitor Audio

Listen to speaker + amp combos at these shops. Short list the ones you like and then write about it on the forum for further help
