My Room size is 16 x 10, was wondering Bose AM 6 series 3 will be enough for this room size, i am planning to pair it with Yamaha RXV 375, I would mostly watch movies say 70% and 30% for music and other stuff.

Welcome, first post here, please browse the forums. You will change your opinion about Bose, there are better options available at a much better price point.

anishj,
There are many Bose haters on this forum. I was carried away by their opinions. But when I heard Bose products, I changed my opion about Bose products. I bought their BOSE SOUND LINK MINI, excellent performance. At that time I auditioned Acoustimass 6 Series III Home Entertainment Speaker System. In my opinion it is excellent system and goes well with Yamah AVR. The price is also quite affordable. I think it is @ Rs.40,000/- & I dont think it is exorbittantly priced.
I suggest you yourself listen to all systems and decide for yourself without getting biased by some Bose haters.

LOL ... For a reason mate, for a reason!

Your money, your hobby, your ears, your decision. We can only suggest.

thanks for your reply, can you pls suggest some

Listen to many systems of same price range including Bose and decide. I would suggest fellow FM's house along with dealers demo room. Personally, I would not buy any Bose system that I have listened to. They have some historical problem with the middle range frequencies of Human audible range along with many other shortcomings.

i pretty much liked the performance of bose, my concern was will it be good enough for a room size of appx 180 sq ft. Meanwhile i am going to audition polk speakers today..heard good review about them too.

Any has any experience with Yamaha NS F160 series speakers, traditionally i yamaha is know for AVRs and not much for their speakers !

can you tell us on what is most important for you between Sound Quality, Size price and brand name (since its a living room)
Bose is an good choice , and one of the better/cheaper one at that if sound quality is option 3 as at 40K there are not too many of the other brands available. and do listen to all opinions with the proverbial pinch of salt as many folks who hate/love it have never heard heard it as well ;)

lets see if the OT is interested to hear/ask more before we start our own fun slugfest :D

This is also an option although at a higher cost

I have heard Bose but I didn't pay much attention to the details but if you actually look at it objectively you will admire the quality of the design such compact systems put out such huge amount if sound and it is musical if not accurate. They do some signal processing but who are we to complain, we like expensive tube stuff knowing they aren't accurate either ! Human hearing is subjective and so are opinions. I have never bought Bose because I do find them expensive and slightly plasticky . Rest let you ears be the judge .

hi anish,
listen to bose, compare with others in same price range. If you like it, pick it up. Dont go alone by brand name or opinions shared here. You are best judge for your ears.
I own a bose 301 pair. In my opinion
good- clarity of sound, they fill the room with sound, all those reflection funda.
bad - overpriced, buit quality is not that great compared to price, they manipulate sound for effects-not good for purists. Bass needs improvement.
If you like the sound and it comes in your budget, no need to hesitate. Do remember to compare with others to avoid regrets later.
Regards,
Antony

Hi,

Bose does not manufacture speakers like the used to in the 80s and 90s. I do own a pair of Bose 201s series III bookshelf which sound much better that the 201s available today.

If you want good satellites which deliver all the required frequencies (20hz - 20khz) and excellent bass from a powered subwoofer, you should look at Boston Acoustics Soundware XS 5.1...it cost around 24k on HiFi Mart with one year warranty.

I use the same with a Marantz NR 1402 and the sound experience is anyday better than the Bose acoustimass speaker sets...I use them in an area of 200 sq ft and the volume is only cranked up 45%.

Music and movies sound excellent with so much warmth, spatial and depth....you should visit some home theatre dealers and check on the same and also explore other available options. I did a good 2 months review on the net checking for customer feedback, videos etc.

End of the day it depends what appeals to you and your wallet....hope this helps

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
