Hi Friends,

I bought a pair of new floor stand speakers " AAD Vi860" by Phil Jones, its selection is a story , i went for Audition of a DAC but found it there and after audition it ,next day i again went for audition with my all gear( pre-amp,amp, CDP,interconnects & Speakers cables) and decided to buy it.

I like its sound very much, it is very big, weight 38 kg each. Now its just 20 hours i have played it and still sounding great with excellent Hi,mid and low frequency extension.

I Will post its pics very soon and my Old B&W DM 603S3 speakers will be for sale now.

Hey all the best for such beauty, How does that sounds with our rotel? Pls post the first impression after they get landed at your listening room.38kg Should be too hefty:)..Photos please.

Thanks Audio Freek,

When speaker was delivered to my place i was out of station and the my wife called me with surprised that some one came to deliver speakers and it is very big (Size48.9x10.3x16.1 inch),with packing it was about 5 feet in height( I never told her about the size of this speaker earlier).

Its sound very nice with Rotel, the difference i am feeling in comparison with B&W DM 603S3 is that:

Vi860 is producing very open, airy ,warm and very good sound, extension of low frequency is excellent with bass ( Frequency response as per specs are 24Hz-30K Hz,+/-2Hz).

Vocals are very lively, it sounds like some one is singing in front of you with very good imagine and focus.

Sound stage is also improved very much and giving me bigger and wider sound stage feeling.

It was recommended by its designer Mr.Phil Jones that i should burn it minimum 100 hours for good sound, but the speakers are sounding very good to me from day one, its only 50 hours of burn in so i expect a lot more good thing to come with this speaker in next few weeks.

So over all i am impressed ,its very good upgrade over B&W603S3 for me and will stay with it for long long time.:)

I unable to upload pics pl help me with it by suggesting the method.

:-), Though thousands of technology comes in, still we like and prefer Lively sound.Possibly the accuracy of the Originality is what we looking for each upgrade.

I wonder how you got time to listen the music, if i was you then, would have just admiring its beauty for 100 Hours before start with listening session.

I understand you might not think about upgrade for another couple of years. You could seek the help of moderator for uploading the pictures, i still dont have a decent setup to upload pic in forum, hence haven't tried yet, sorry for that.

Audio Freek you are right..i have 14*22 ft space where i have put it but i think more space will be advantageous.

As per specs.it will work from 20 watt to 300watt @6 ohms but I think any good amp above 100 watt will drive it , I am using Rotel 300 watt @6ohm and it has excellent controls on speakers.

How's it doing in low volumes? 60w amp can drive it?

Thanks.
