After serving for so many years, the player has started giving trouble. It stops suddenly while playing. Occasionally showing "no disc". If heard carefully with headphones, some noise can be noticed when the player tries to read a disc. Any help from fms. I have tried to clean the lens with Philips CD lens cleaner, which I am using for years but it didn't work.

Obviously the lens has reached end of life.
check with FM eyeinthesky if he has original parts. mobile : 9445957724.

if you are based in Kolkata - you can take it to Ashoke da.

Cannot find FM eyeinthesky on hfv. Has he deactivated his profile?

I used to work with BPL in the past, The earlier BPL CD players were essentially assembled kits and had Sanyo SF-P1 laser transports. I think BPL used the same transport for their component audio CD players like the CP79 and CP80, and also early VCD players like the VCD1000 and VCD2000. Not sure about the combo music systems like the D100, D200 and D1000 but I suspect they used the same laser transport as they were from the same BPL-Sanyo era.
