At the experts, A week back brought a Denon AVR 1612 after a lot of reading in the forums & Seriously need to thank all the experts who educated me about the differences in the Denon models. Now coming to the speakers, I Auditioned TSI 200 from Polk along with TSI 100's and found to be a pretty decent ones for the price that I'm getting it for. I mean, the Polk that i auditioned was connected to a Integrated Amp Denon PMA-710AE and the sound stage that i got from the speakers were amazing & i was sold to it. Now the real question is will the AVR 1612 drive about two of the TSI 200's in the front & two TSI 100's in the rear. The Showroom guy told that the quality & sound stage will be ths same as the Integrated Amp from the AVR but i doubt it. My Centre channel speaker & the Sub will be added later on after i get some Vitamin-M. Experts shed some light pls. Thanks in advance.

If you like the sound of polks you should definitely try the RTI series. They are clean, detailed and punchy.

Would love to Kittu, but what's stopping me is the prices they quote. Even if it's not that high, it still is for me whose running on a limited budget. Maybe i'll pick up the surrounds in RTI's sacrificing the TSI 100's for now. :-)

But my question is still not answered. Will the 1612 able to drive Tsi 200's without any hiccups?

Also anyone tried the TSI 300's or any good word over the 200's pls.?

I have heard the 1612 with Tsi 200 at a dealer. I found the sound a touch lean with emphasis on the higher frequencies. Also I noticed the bass was lacking. could quickly lead to ear fatigue. Go for Tsi 300/400 or RTI series.I also heard the 300s and found it much better. You should try to stretch your budget to Tsi 300.

TSI 100's - 10,800/- Free Shipping
TSI 200's - 14,200/- " ""
TSI 300's - Not known (What should be the Ideal Price?)

Yes, this is what i want. I had this doubt of fatigue, i was highly doubtful that 1612 will be able to deliver a not-so-warm-but-quite-smooth kind of response like what the 710AE did. But as said, i never tried the TSi 300's. Must check out soon..I won't mind extending a 3-4k more.:)

Also i've heard horror stories about El-Cheapo Tower speakers that's available in the markets from good known International brands, how do you evaluate TSI 300's? Ringing effects, cabinet resonance effect & stuff?:)

+1.
I too have heard TSI series (dont remember whether it was 200 or 300) and they sounded exactly as explained above, with 1611.
Your best bet would be to take along your AVR (if the dealer does not have it) and then get an audition.

TSI 200's - 14.5k
TSI 100's - 11.5K

That's what I highly doubted. When I auditioned the 200's through the 710 Integrated Amp, the sound stage was amazing & brilliant. But doubted if i'll get the same sound stage & audio image in the 1612's although the dealer confirmed that i'll get it. I'm ready to go a little more if you guys think the 300's will sound better. But being able to find so...many floor standers at an entry level price now & 300's being one of them, what would you think about this? Is this better VFM or just all show & no go?? considering the fact that ringing caused by the floor standers, box resonance effects etc.?

The dealer does have an AVR 1612 with him, but what according to me was will the 1612's drive comfortably the 200's & 300's without overheating & distortion at high volume levels? Although i won't cross 30% of the volume given at any point of time, just wanted to know. Thanks in advance.:)

P.S. My earlier reply to all the quoted posts now never got approved...Why is it so guys?

Hi

I too purchased Denon 1612 and am looking for speakers. Have auditioned Polk, Jamo c603 & Wharfdale 10.2. All bookshelves within 30k. All sounded great but the limitation with bookshelves is the thumping bass which u can get in floorstanders. So I am auditioning TSi 300 & 400 tomorrow at PROFX Bangalore. Listed price for Tsi 300 is 21k & 400 is 29k. Also auditioning Chorus SR700V bookshelves (36k) & FXi A6 (28k). Basicaly I am interested in bookshelves due to space constraints but do'nt want to miss out on bass. Will give detailed opinion on monday, 9.3.12.

PS Am also auditioning B & W 686 today.

space speakers will also be a good option as thy r good value for money....thy r available for 15K

Are they Book Shelves?? Any info on the site they've been mentioned will be great...!

Welcome to my club of Confusions that last for ever..Awaiting your audition report mate..:):)

A pair of bookshelfs with a decent SUB will give you clean bass.

Kittu, I don't know man, i'm loving the TSI 300's and i'm not able to choose anything apart from them. As of now my Set-up would be the TSI 300's and the PSW 110. Hoping that this would be a decent sounding 2.1 Set-up.

@ all, guys, come on, i need a lot of replies from you all. So many views & so little replies makes me feel chucked out. Pls. do help. Also what should be the ideal bargain price for the TSI 300's??:)

Auditioned the following for Denon 1612:

Since 1612 can deliver 75W at 8 ohms & 95W at 6 ohms, the speakers are limited to bookshelves or Home Theatre and Floorstanders within 100-125W.

B & W 686 at Vector - Was not impressed. Maybe because the room accoustics at Vector was poor.

Polk TSi 300 - This perfectly matched 1612 and sound was sublime. Only marginal improvement with Subwoofers (Polk). Cost including SUB is 38K with best offer 34K if you purchase cords. Just the Floorstanders cost 23K.

Jamo C603 - By far the best with 1612. Jamo comes with 6 ohm impedence. The resonance is perfect. Bass is good but reality is that Bookshelves can't deliver good bass. Overall performance is great. Can give 8 outa 10.

Now I wonder whether I should also audition HT?

Thanks Vishnu for the audition report, let me also get my audition & i shall report back:)

I have tried TSi300 with and without Subs. Sounded very good. Very punchy. Excellent Vocals, Clean instrumentals and thumping bass. Like I mentioned elsewhere, 1612 delivers 75W at 8 Ohms & 95W at 6ohms. Therefore the speakers are limited to bookshelve, Home Theatre (Satelite) and Floorstanders within 100 to 125W. TSi300 costs 23k and Subs costs 13k, best price 34k if u buy cords from PROFX.

If u don't have space constraints, i suggest u go for TSi300. U can hear with or without subs and decide. Personally, I don't think Subs are necessary.

For bookshelves vis-a-vis 1612, my best bet is Jamo C603. By far the best sounding Bookshelves. Mind U I have auditioned Polks, Wharfdale, B & W & Jamo. There some good budget floorstanders at Jamo. Try it out. Also tryout their Satelite Home Theatre 5.1 (sounded better than Bose & costs 37K, negotiable).

Well my journey ends here as I have bt 1612 and buying Jamo C603. But I will be following all the posts hoping that I might be of some use.

Thank you Vishnu for the detailed info given. I bet you're very useful for me here. Coming to Jamo C603, what was the price quoted by the dealer? Any dealer info in coimbatore or surroundings would be really helpful.

Thanks Again.:)

I have auditioned the following for my Denon 1612:

Polk bookshelves, Polk Tsi300 floor standers with & without subs, Jamo C603, Wharfdale Diamond 10.2 bkshlvs, B & W 686, Jamo satelite HT, Jamo Floorstanders within 150W at 6 ohms.

Denon 1612 specs is 120W at 6 Ohms & 75W at 8 Ohms. So u havta go for speakers within 150W at 6 Ohms 100W at 8 Ohms. The choice depends on your space availability. If u face space constraint then go for Bookshelves or satelite HT. Both case Jamo C603 (28k) & Jamo satelite (37k) sounded perfect.

If u have space for floorstanders, then Polk Tsi 300 is a pretty good choice. U can listen to them with or without subs and decide which suits u most. Polk Tsi 300 costs 23k & 200w subs cost 13k. PROFX best offer for both is 34k. U can audition Jamo. They have a good mix starting from 13k to 40k.

The c603 is an excellent value for money speaker.
It is one of the few models a manufacturer has developed for 10 years instead of developing a completely different design every few years.
All other jamo models changed but this particular series they've kept alive and developed every time they update their speakers.

The first incarnation of it is the e800 from late 90's
img_big0.jpg

The second incarnation of it was the e825 through the 2000's
img_big0.jpg

The third and present incarnation of it is presently the c603 post the 2010's

You cannot go wrong with it.

PS. If you're looking for center and surrounds aswell I can sell you my Jamo e7 bookshelf and center (which is somewhat comparable to the c601 and c60cen however superior in sonics and build quality).
