BS wharfdale 10.1 or Monitor Audio M2 ?

Hi guys,

I am in confusion . after i saw the review of Monitor Audio M2 AV Max Dec 2010 issue.which one to select Wharfedale 10.1 or Monitor Audio M2 ?
for English Music only.my budget is also 15k. i just like to select from this two.

Hi,

I have used both the Wharfedale(8.3 FS) and M2 extensively.

Both the speakers have a good mid range. However the M2 sounds more airy. The low frequencies are better in the wharfs though some may call it boomy. I felt that M2 is not very finicky about speaker placement.

What kind of music do you listen to?

I faced a similar dilemma recently and finally auditioned both 10.1 and M2. My personal opinion is that the 10.1s didnt soundas detailed as the M2s. Hence I have placed my order for M2s.

Monitor Audio sells M2 only in developing countries and not in mature markets like UK, whereas the diamonds( 10 and 9 series) are the global flagship models of Wharfedale.
So don't go by AV max review. Do audition both of them and decide.

i recently bought Wharfedale EVO 8. its awesome BS speakers. totally wood veneer and not vinyl.

if you want i can try to get you the same within your budget.

do to the net and review it first.

I own a Monitor Audio M2 and before buying I auditioned WF Dia 10.1. I felt M2 to be more exciting to my ears. It showed a lot of detail which I could not pick out in 10.1. And I have a small room, so the front-ported M2 made more sense. Do try out both more than once and then decide.

i'm in a similar confusion to go for MA BR 2 or WF 10.1.
can you please tell me from which dealer you got MA BR 2 and what is the price...?

Try Audio people Chennai for Monitor Audio speakers.

After going through this thread, may consider M2 because BX2 are bit costly for me. How Monitor Audio M2 will pair with Marantz PM6003 ?
