Exactly..I dont think that they will open your complete luggage and check the receiver when you keep it in the check in luggage. Also the limit is around 35 K and not 10K....

If am not wrong, the current limit has been raised to 45K...

Have you checked the local price in India of this AVR?
If you are getting at lower price in UK then it is a "deal".

Also check the service availability in you won't get warranty for UK purchase.
