Hi,

First of all, i am new at next level Audio field (AVR,Active sub, etc). Going to have onkyo tX-SR606 and Taga Harmony TAV-506 v.2 540W RMS 5.0-CH. I am on low budget.

For now, I don't have a plan for an Active sub. On one website I found there is an option run a passive sub by crossover two outputs, so my question is can I crossover Surrounding back as Passive sub woofer? ANy knowledgeable person please answer. please check the marked

This is a trick question. If you are going to play DD 5.1 or DTS sources on your receiver, the LFE signal would never come to Surround speakers, or rather only the LFE which is encoded in these channels would be sent out. You would end up losing on LFE encoded in F-LR as well as center channels. On the other hand if it is a normal 2 channel signal which can be sent to all 5 channels (straight mode 5 channel option) then it may still work. I suggest you save some money and use the SUB-out option on the AVR to connect to an active sub-woofer. Believe me an active SUB does wonders than a passive one. I own a passive one which only servers as a small coffee table.

Thanks & Regards,
Rajiv

Could you please share the link of the website..

For now, I don't have a plan for an Active sub.

When there is no active sub in your set-up, your fronts will be treated as "Large" by the AVR, so your fronts will receive & play the LFE information to its capabilities..

If you are going the Taga 5.0 speaker package, there are totally four 6.5 inch drivers on the FS to produce bass, which should be better than the bass produced by single 8 inch passive sub..

No. Do not even try to bridge channels on a receiver. They are not designed for it. It will will go into protection mode if you try it. Strictly avoid bridging channels on a receiver.

Buy a vintage amp, plate amp, car amp, etc and use the passive sub. If you do not have a sub, go for an active sub.
