Hi Fellow Members,
I need a suggestion. I have an 12 years old Onkyo TX-SR307 which is still working fine. But my current speaker system is busted. After searching for some time, I think TAGA HARMONY TAV-606 will satisfy my need (Mainly movie). My budget is around 35K.
But I think I notice an issue. My Onkyo Receiver's per channel output is 65W, but on the other hand TAV-606 middle and rear speakers RMS is 50W. Is it really an issue or I am overthinking? Is there any other choice within the budget 35K? I dont mind combining the 5 speakers from different brands, like Polk Audio with Yamaha.

** My New Room size is around 300 square feet and I dont need the Sub woofer. Current one is working fine.

Taga need min 20-25w and can accept up to 100w easily. Onkyo can drive them well. No issue.

Thanks for replying. But isn't 100W is peak? Since RMS is 50 on TAGA isn't it blown up by 65W Onkyo Output? To be clear I don't have much technical knowledge about this. If I dont makes any scenes please let me know.

Only if you crank the volume to very high levels, it can blow up your speakers. For normal levels it will not be a problem at all.

In reality its other way .If amp output is little more, it can handle speakers well without load on AMP/AVR. Just don't keep volume too high.

Hi Sir,
Your speaker will never ask for more power than required at highest volume, and your amp will never provide more than required.
So, don't worry...
Regards

I have called my local AV store. In Amazon its Selling at 38K.
Your post has been here for a whole day almost and yet not one has warned that it could be detrimental to your intended purchase. Taga 606 was what i was thinking to buy, but it was much higher until recently. About 52k when i was considering. Even 506 was tagged at 44k. Dealers were offering it along with amps and sub as a bait. For instance Denon 660h + taga 606 package plus taga tsw90 subwoofer plus cables wires installation charges for about 1.5 lakhs. In this perfoma invoice the taga 606 stood at 44k. (506 no stocks were available with them).

Its a good rate, i must say.

506 at 44k is too high. Even in Amazon its selling 33K.
Since you have researched, is there any significant difference between Taga 506 and 606? I can save few bucks there :p

Having used 606 and heard 506 there is a difference. If I remember the 606 was 27k when i got it in 2019. 606 is better than the 506

Now its come down. 506 itself was 44k before. All these prices vary and you may even see the price going higher later on. 606 v3 is better than 506 v2. But 606 se is not to my knowledge. Plus i have Taga tsw 90 subs. So had i gone for 606 v3 it would be sounding better than a 506 v2 in my chain. I went for micca 0o0 instead. Surrounds or heights or center - all same Micca 0o0. Floor standing speakers of the taga would have given me trouble for my room space constraints. What sub do u have? (By the way i have a second setup too. An atmos sound stage with synodyne subs too and even that would output good audio with taga 606 v3.

I have an old Onkyo SKW-501. Its still kicking. But recently I have upgrade my HT room. Its bigger than previous. around 300'SF. I dont know how the old sub perform in this new setup. If its sound bad I will think of getting a new sub.
