CD player doubt

Hi,
I have silly question-
1. Whether running audio CD on dedicated CD player enhances audio quality as compared to DVD player?
2. Does blue ray player would run audio CD? Whats difference in quality as compared to dedicated CD player?
3. Why few CD players (Denon, Marantze etc) are so costly as compared to Philips, or sony?

a. Yes
b. Yes. Diff in quality depends.. if the Blu Ray player is like Oppo.. then the quality should come very close. But i would take a dedicated CDP anyday.
c. Better electronics ( better DAC ) and transport mechanisms. The normal DVDP and generalist.. the CDP's are specialist. ( General Physician Vs Specialist surgeon is a crude way to put it)

Knowing your purchase journey (and budget), you may want to start with a blu-ray player (say a sony one which is less than 9k) and connect with your AVR through hdmi. This will mean that it is your AVR whose DAC is being used and player is just a transport. This solution is the immediate cheaper solution if you want your setup to have blu-ray capabilities from day 1. It is sonically not the best option but since the AVR is a decent one, it won't be a deal breaker. Down the line, buy a dedicated CDP/DAC once your budget allows you. Else, buying a quality CDP like marantz 5004 too will set you back by 19k with no movie playback capability. That is how is I started off and now I am looking to buy a good DAC.

I am not sure if Philips still makes dedicated CD players or not but check out these -

But I am not sure whether they will be at par CD6004 or 565BEE but they are definitely not cheap!

NAD 565 BEE is one of the best players in that price range. I doubt any CD players from Philips come close to that.
