Center Speaker Upgrade Help

Hey Guys,

My speakers are from Taga Harmony (607 package) which came with the TAV-C center speaker.

Need your suggestions for upgrading the Center speaker as I feel it's lacking. Was checking out the Platinum C-100 V.4 from TH as it'll hopefully blend with the rest of my speakers but they seem to be out of stock/discontinued with my dealer. I do see it listed with other dealers though.

Another option that was presented to me was a 3-way speaker that Albin from Albin Audio makes. The drivers are from Peerless and the tweeter is HiVi. He's selling it for 14k.



My budget is around the 15k mark and I was wondering if I should stick with a center from Taga Harmony or if there are any other options I can look at.

Can you let us know what is lacking? Is it output or clarity or punchiness?

A speaker which can produce most frequencies between 20hz and 20khz is ideal. A 2/3 way center with the right drivers will be able to deliver clear dialogues and also some bass....rest will be handle by Front Speakers or Subwoofer.

Listening is very subjective, what sounds good to me may not be that great for you and hence better to audition any speaker (new / used) with your favourite music / movie clip to draw an inference and then take a call for purchase.

Within 15k there would be limited options besides pre owned.

I'm missing clarity and punch.

What do you think about the 3-way center speaker that Albin makes with the Peerless drivers and HiVi tweeter for 14k?

My concern is that it won't match with the other Taga Harmony speakers.

Is there any spec sheet available? Not necessarily that Fronts and Center need to match.

I have heard of Peerless and other brands during my college days when I used to make speakers / amps with my friends from parts sourced from Lamington Road as we could not afford then the expensive foreign brands....good stuff then dont know now how it is.

Why not check for pre owned options within your budget or slightly higher listed on Facebook Market Place or OLX etc? You may just get something nice!

Brands like SVS use Peerless drivers so I'm fine with that option.

I'm wary of pre-owned options because I wouldn't know if they were taken care of properly. And, I'm not an expert to find out if something isn't working as it should.
