Can any forum member tell me how you can connect a Tata Sky+ HD STB to my Panasonic Viera remote control using Viera Link... This will allow me to use Panasonic Remote control on the STB.

I'm not sure, but I think the Viera Link can be used only to link Panasonic peripherals together. Your best bet is to buy a universal remote.

Please do some more research on this. AFAIK all these Viera Link, BRAVIA Sync are nothing but a modelled name of HDMI link which is a feature of HDMI protocol that allows devices to talk to one another via HDMI. These are more widely known as CEC enabled devices. You can find more info on HDMI - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HDMI-CEC is what its called. However, it is known to be very buggy. With different companies using their own version of HDMI-CEC, it is generally a hit-or-miss as far as HDMI-CEC is concerned. If you're lucky, it might work. Just connect the Tata Sky box to the TV via HDMI, and refer to your TV manual on how to use Viera Link on the TV. See if it works.

I find my same self in the ditch... it looks like CEC is disabled on Tatasky+ HD guess need to wait for some update.
Untill such time i ve resorted to manual remote codes on denon remote which can control vol, ch, pause, play, fw & rew functions.

Yeah, even I am very much interested in as TS claims their STBs can not be controlled by AVR or other universal remotes. I tried looking for PACE (manufacturer of TS+HD STB) remote codes, however could not find any.

This is bad TS.
This probably has to do more with Sky than TS :) I searched the internet for Sky+ codes, however could not find any and people from UK are also complaining about unavailability of these codes for PACE (OEM of TS+HD).

I have just now finished setting up my new TS HD+ remote with my Logitech Harmony 700 remote. I used 'Sky' as the mfg and it worked fine for me.

Glad to answer any queries.

Is there any way to find the manual code of TS+ remote?

/Alok

There is a code given the battery compartment in the remote. But I was not able use it correctly.

What I did for mapping in the Logitech s/w. I selected the mfg as Sky and for the remote model I selected 'HD Plus' and viola the settings were incorporated into my remote.

I had to manually map only one button into the remote, the "Plan" button. All other buttons were as is.

Glad to know that Harmony has Sky HD+ profile built in. Nevertheless, even if you don't these remotes can be programmed using the original remote codes.

Trouble is with using non intelligent remotes like those of AVR's, TV, etc. We need Sky+HD codes, which can't be found.

Even denon has a profile for sky+ Remote codes...that's how it's working for me...

on a seperate note i found many complaining about PIN13 issue on SKY+ HD boxes causing CEC to stop working....but eventually it was fixed with a firmware upgrade...which i think Tata would never would want to do it !! or even understand...
