Connecting 2.0 or 2.1 speakers to a single source?

I am planning to set up speakers for my clinic, and would like to place speakers in each room,ie, 2 operatories , consulting room and reception/waiting room. the area is a total of 250 sq.ft. each room coming to about 60-70 sq.ft. i was wondering if it was possible for me to place 2.0 or 2.1 computer speakers in each room and connect them to a single source (mostly ipod/computer). are there any other options than the airport express. budget 35k. thanks a lot in advance.

If your motherboard OR soundcard has 5.1 output,then you can.There will be 3 output.Each will be a stereo output.So you can get a amp with individual volume control OR even if you connect PC(2.0/2.1)speakers,you can control volume individually.

hey i am getting ms satellites from a dealer , they are demo pieces, part of the 5.1 premier package for roughly 7000,i.e., two sets of the satellites, are they worth it?
