Connecting a non HDMI Laptop to AVR.

What is the best way to connect to AVR to a Non HDMI Laptop ?

1. Using a 3.5 to 3.5 mm stereo cable. Laptop Headphone output to AUX input of AVR.

2. Using a 3.5 mm - 2 RCA cable. Laptop Headphone output to LR audio input of AVR.

Will there be any SQ difference between the 2 types of inputs?

Can good quality of 3.5 mm improve sound quality?

OR add usb soundcard to get digital output.

Even an entry level sound card will give much better SQ than the onboard sound. Try a usb dac.

Thanks for the info. Its true that my Laptop has average SQ. I think may be a DAC will be a better solution.
