Decision between Denon and Onkyo

Hi all,

I am deciding whether to go infor a Denon 1911 or a Onkyo 608. I thought of going for Marantz but listening to the poor after sales service I am a bit hesitant. Leaning a lot toward the Onkyo. But also interested in Denon. What would be better for Music. Any inputs.

Well i was checking that just now(online) & found that Denon offer better sound than Onkyo.If you want AVR for musical sound,then Denon is good.It is said to have better sound than mar1601,Pioneer 1020

Onkyo on other hand has more power,Thx certification.

If you want THX in Denon ,then 791 is better/cheaper option than 1911 with THx-

Would advise onkyo.....608 has been rated 5 star by whathifi also....whereas I think 1911 has been awarded 4 star....moreover, onkyo support is better than anybody else coz of there local presence in India

Go with Denon. Some of those new models have front USB and also giving IPOD/Iphone dock free as part of 100th anniversary promo....

PS : I love my 608 (extremely good in Stereo and pureaudio modes + perfect upscaling)

I am facing the same dilemma and after some auditions, had to conclude that I can't go wrong with either one of these. The quoted price is 39K for denon and 38K for onkyo in Bangalore. The denon comes with an ipod dock which is a plus. The local paradigm dealer prefers Denon over Onkyo.. I feel that your decision should be based on an audition with your Paradigm 9s.
