DIY boombox

Hello! i want to begin with saying that i'm new to the world of speakers, not that experieced with electrincs, pretty much the only thing i know how to do is solder, haha...

Anyway, I want to build a boombox.

I have two Yamaha Ns-g40.
Rated at 120 watts at 4 ohms
response of 35-20kHz

it has:
2 x 6 1/2" bass/mid drivers
a 1 " soft dome tweeter in a ported enclosure.

also inside i found this, have no clue what this is.

I was planing to use the the two 6 1/2" speakers, the two 1" tweeters
and hopfully a subwoofer of some sort.

I was hoping to power it with on of these, could that work, or is it to weak?

do guys think this is a good ide or should i re think it.
My budget is very low thats why i was hoping for that amp to be enough, altough i could skip the subwoofer, go with a better amp and hope that the two 6 1/2" speakers does the job.

Anyway, I want to build a boombox.

I wonder why you want to build another boombox using the same drivers, when you already own one.... can you pl explain?

Do one thing go to local market and find out if there is anything (amp) that runs with 12v power.
This will reduce your costing by much degree.
In the picture that is a crossover which is used to separate between mid hi and low frequencies.

First step will be to buy the amp, procure that first. You can do this by either try running to local electronics market like i suggested or by purchasing online via ebay. That will do.


Buy the amp and come back , we will be able to help you more.
