Dear Friends

Started my search for a LP player in hifivision & after reading so much about Sterio Integrated Amps & Speakers, ended up in making my own Rack system & Speakers, which I wanted to do since a long time.

Would like to make it clear that this will no way match professional work, but as an Account by profession, know nothing about Amp, Drivers, cross overs, but managed to do what I wanted. I did not get in to too much technicalities. Just wanted some good Bass, Vocal effect in the speakers.

Started my search on this website & most of them bought on olx & Quickr (After referring to its reviews). First Bought an Amp NAD 304 Amp (Never heard this name before)
Later on bought a Sony CD Player & Akai Bush 9 Band equalizer, later on changed it Sansui SE77 (24 band ) equalizer. Also bought a Technicks Tape Deck (not in picture).

Diyaudiocart Bijin helped a lot in choosing driver, crossover, Cabinet Dimension & to suggest drivers for a 3 Way floor stander. Also providing drawing which helped cutting & minimum wastage. Also helped in doing internal Partitions & Assembling which I did with the so called non carpenter.

Work was done by a wood cutting person on Sarjapur Road Bangalore. He took 2 days.

Searched about a month for good carpenter, finally got the same done by a non carpenter as wasn't much worried about aesthetics'.

Cabinet 18MM Mdf (8x4 2 sheets used), Dimension about 3 1/2 Ft Length, 1 1/2 ft width.
Cost of Mdf Rs 3K, Carpentar Rs 3.2K.

Drivers used:
Peerless - 10" Paper Cone Woofer - SB25NP
Peerless - 25mm Fabric Dome Tweeter - SR10DT
Wintek - Passive 3-Way Crossover

Posting some pictures.
Pending work : Fixing the drivers with all screws, Outer Cover, Base reflex tubes to put at the back, Stand Pin

I am extremely happy about the deep base it produces & crisp Midrange.

Thanks to all friends who have posted their DIY speakers which inspired me & made me do my own (though not perfect..!!).

Will post some more pictures as it is allowing me only 5 pictures now.

hi,

nice to see.

what made you select the drivers you did ?

understand this will be a 3 way speaker. have you designed the cross over ?

whats your listening room size ?

mpw

thanks.
1. cross overs were not designed by me & bought it from diyaudiocart online.
2. planned this for my Living size 17' x 18' .

ok.

what are the dimensions of the speakers ?

good going..

try to get the best finish possible so it will look good and that will automatically add the feel good factor.

am sure the satisfaction of making something will be the icing on the cake.

keep this thread going till the end till you setup and install at your home and also after about 100 hours of listening at your place.

am sure the bangalore DIY folks will shine the torch ahead if required for you.

thanks to all & Namaskara to GeorgeO.

It was my first attempt to Soldering, though could manage wires to stick to woofer without any damage !!. Will make it more steady & add some lead.

The spacing of woofers & Mid range are basis Technical drawings & did not do any modifications..

The down space has an Internal Bracing ( Open with 4 equal partitions) & I am yet to put a Port tube on that space.

Requesting B'lore friends to guide on sourcing Speaker cabinet Cloth - The black one (For the front part).
Not sure whether SP road or chikpet is the right source. If some one has sourced, kindly help.

Look at my Zaph speakers build thread and I got the grill cloth from diyaudiocart.com site. But I think if you see the post of "Joshua" aka "jls001" his idea of using a chiffon cloth (dupatta) from the commercial market or any other clothes market sounds a great and simple idea.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
