diy projector

hello friends,I live in india.I recently build a diy projector under 25k:yahoo:.
posting some pics.if it creates interest in somebody I will share theory,build method,parts sources and prices every detail.
I got the idea from various diy projector forums.







my wife is standing beside image.image size 80 inch diaognal.





all the image quality is not at its full potential as screen is only whitewashed wall witha blue tint.

Can you please tell me all the details . I live in mumbai.

this is just a standard DVD of underworld 2.

this is also standard DVD of indiana jones movie

not very impressive

length around 1.2 feet..other dimensions can be idead by photo acordingly

a few mm manual focus adjust, ..is allowed by this mechanism..a plastic rain water pipe elbow..cut,using the rotating grooved part,this is the top cover,inside grooved one is fevicoled with the plywood same dia hole
so this top cover can be opened very easily anytime with even pj running for say the lens cleaning

delivered this completeed pj to my friend..he is very happy..
i will try to take shots at his place and share..at his place images are bigger..

128w LED with my 10.1 inch lcd b101ew05 job complete
its colours are much better than the 7 inch build.
2 of the 7 inches are sold to friends..

enjoy pics
black level is not ultra black...as room light conditions are not perfect
still better than entry level branded projectors

same photo with the 7 inch another lcd..seee colours are not good like the 10 incher build

i will post comparosn with a lcd tv and also build stage pictures

I had a very interesting conversation with FM Prosenjit about DIY projectors, on a recent visit to Jamshedpur. Unfortunately time was very short, so I was unable to go over and see how it works, but will address that on a future trip there.

Yes, Prosenjit seems to know his game very well. I got inspired by him like so many people in this forum and getting a projector for myself is ONLY a matter time

black level check
it is highly dependant on room ambient and unwanted lights..unfortunately my whole room is white including ceiling

sony 40 inch bx model..comparison..

LED and its cooler alignment and fix method,this will help new builders a lot.
cooler is antec khuler 620,expensive(with more spec rating) will be better..

method is simple
fixing the cooler main body inside a bakelite board,snug fit..
fixing the bakelite board on a plywood(pj main body)
now fixing the LED on a bakelite board(same size)
and now
holding the 2 bakelites tight...
so LED is sandwitched...and always gets tight conact with cooler main body

3.cooler snugly fitted,by nut bolts..the hole should be perfect for a snug fit..

as i have told many times,you can see alignment perfection is the build key...electrical or electronics knowledge is not at all needed..for hardcore diyers perfect alignment is easy as they are experienced and having tools..so i belive they can can get results much better than me

LED backelite

temp sensor fixing...a rectanguler small cut in the bakelite..keep sensor...it is touching LED steel body..a simple tape..and it wont move

you can see the led is sandwitched..
there is another small rectnaguler cut..it is for fixing a temp switch
sensor is connected witha auto shut off temp sense relay which controls(connctes or disconnects)24v or 230v mains
a switch is for double protection..

this is not anything new almost all stuffs are protected this way a cut off transmitter and also by a cut off switch

now cooler,LED assembly..
it can be fixed with pj body main base..or back wall..whichever seems easy..my lcd assembly was made by mistake very big..so to keep centres aligned i kept this LED,cooler assembly fixed on pj back wall

oh dont forget to apply good thermal paste btween cooler body and LED steel base..
unlike processors..here use sparingly...

How much it will cost for diy 720 proj? are u doing diy and selling it.
