Hi.. I broke my Hyundai 5.1 home theatre which was already dead..I found toroidal transformer rating 13.5-0-13.5v x5.6a and 11.2v x1.2a ..with 8 inch subwoofer rating 8ohm 60watts..now I am thinking of using this two to make a active sub.. please advise regarding power amp PSU and sub crossover..

after rectification you will get about +/- 18V DC, this may be inadequate for the amp. Please confirm from the vendor.

The voltage after rectification depends on the voltage of the secondaries of the transformer ( which in +-13.5V in your case). so getting a better rectifier will not get you a higher voltage.

Please help..
The subwoofer I am using has no specifications on it..only 8inch 60 watts..no f or q value..now the problem is I can't decide what should be the measurements of its box that am going to make..is there any golden rule for box measurements?? I prefer ported..
