DIY : WTM 3RCA Cable

Hello,

My old 3RCA cable has gone corrupt. I want to connect my LCD with my Tatasky Set Top box and my Sony DVD player with my LCD. For that i need 2x3RCA cables. I want to make a high end RCA Cable myself now. But as i am a newbie to this. I studied a few tutorials on making a RCA cable. Reference for it is here.

Now, my query is instead of using a 3RCA cable can i use 6 single RCA cables to connect my TATASKY Set Top Box and DVD player to my LCD. That means one single RCA cable for Red Socket, One for White Socket and One for Yellow socket. Will this work as a 3RCA cable or is it mandatory that i should go for a 3RCA cable only.

Need to know that if i need the Cable Tester to test the cable or is there any other way also to test the cable. Is it necessary to buy the cable tester ?

I am also interested in solderless versions of RCA connectors. Are they worth buying? Do they deliver the same kind of quality as solder wires ? Which quality of coaxial wires should i use with them ? I have got a lot of cable TV coaxial wire at my home. Will that work with the RCA connectors ? Which one is the best connector and wire as per my requirement please suggest. I would really appreciate the help and thank my friends in advance.

Second thing that i want to buy is HDMI Cable. Can someone suggest some good HDMI Cable. But what i want is it should be good and deliver best quality for movies and sound. This is also needed to connect my DVD Player and LCD.

Why do you need a high end RCA cable for just watching SD channels? A high end cable is not going to help in improving PQ of SD channels.

For VFM HDMI cables there are brands like Belkin, Profigold, Bandridge, DAC etc. MDR is a famous Indian electronics manufacturer and their products have very good quality.

As already suggested the best thing to do is get a dth hd box as RCA is outdated now. It will improve quality of even non hd tv sets although full hd is optimal. For hdmi cables all work the same in video quality however by personnel experience good quality cables last longer and prevent intermittent disconnection. I have both cheap hdmi a belkin and a band bridge cable. The latter procured from amazon is the best among them.
