try getting this bbc diarmaid mucculoch's history of christianity /church .I got this in 720p the visuals were fantastic ,narration was perfect.

Some old classics.
1. Civilisation by Lord Kenneth Clark. This was shown in Doordarshan in the late eighties but I was too young to follow it. Currently available in BBCshop.com or Amazon.co.uk
2. The Ascent of Man: Presented by Jacob Bronowski, this was available in DVD form till some years ago in India. You may still find some in ebay or rediff.com. Else amazon and BBC remain the other sources.
