Hi

while reading about the Vidar, I was intrigued by many mentions of the KEF LS50. (read up the thread on the LS50 on hfv too)

The KEF LS50 is a small bs/ monitor. The speaker specs show a frequency range (-6 db) 47 Hz to 45 KHz and a frequency response (+- 3db) 79 Hz - 28 kHz.

The Zensor 5 spec sheet says Frequency Range (+/-3 dB) [Hz] 43 - 26,500.

Could you help me understand this. a) it produces music only over 79 Hz and b) it will not have the bass extension that the Z5 has.

(assuming good amplification ofc)

ciao

Yes. The lows of Zensor will be better as per the specs you have shared. KEF will produce music below 79 Hz but the roll off will be more than Zensor. What it means is at say, 50 Hz, you could lose 6 db on KEF as compared to 3 db on Zensor.

However some of this can be corrected with room placement. Placing close to the front wall, you can add some db to your bass to compensate for the roll off
