EMI Sonic Direct Drive

I have this turntable ...its good. As far as I remember it was a Pioneer Kit.

Nice TurnTable....like that wooden cabinet....
actually it reminds me, of those Cosmic TTs which I have seen...here itself...
in vintage forum section.

I remember this machine, I had one myself, then gave it to a friend after I got myself a Thorens. The emisonic had an Audio Technica AT-70 MM cartridge, a very nice sounding turntable. The Amplifier was the emisonic Stereo 5050 with built in 5 band graphic equaliser, and LED power meters forming a 'V' shape. You could choose the LED setting for the 0-10 watts and 0-50 watts display. The speakers were called 'Emisonic SDR' lovely wooden speakers and a tape deck which was a Kenwood labelled as emisonic.
The tape deck played metal tapes too!

Good old memories :)

I remember the emisonic amp, speakers and TT like it was yesterday. I was studying in standard 5 at the time they appeared in the shop window here...1982 I guess...they looked fantastic and must have sounded great too!!
