In the last 6 months, I gave a honest shot at trying to make digital work at my place, starting from my listening session of various dacs in Melbourne.

I decided on the Yggdrasil and Aries Mini with its own LPS as the source. Unfortunately I never could enjoy the music as much as I did when listening to vinyl. So I have decided to give up on digital for the time being.

The Yggdrasil as well as the Aries Mini will be sold soon

That's sad:sad:

In what ways didn't the combo live up to your expectations?

Perhaps you've set the standard too high?

I haven't analysed in what way. I wasn't enjoying it. Maybe it was lacking in emotion.

Sad to hear that! Thought I would have time a year atleast for saving funds to call dibs on your yggy!

am bowled over my digital set-up with below moderate chinese dac itself. Yggy was supposed to be end game for me.

Now you got me all curious on vinly!

Hi SwaroopKS

The Yggy is very nice. It's just that I prefer vinyl.:) Most of the stuff I listen to is mastered better on vinyl. It's as simple as that:)

I think we need to set the context right lest people think something is wrong with the digital gear in question.

The Yggy as well as the Auralic are outstanding gear. Prem would have chosen them because they were as close to his sound goals as he could get within the budget he had set up for the tryst. I know a few people who are using these and they are very satisfied folks.

Like the OP said; There is a goal and that is possible only with Vinyl for him. End of the story !
