Energy RC-50 Floor standing speakers

Hi everyone,

I am a brand new member so please bear with me in case of any mistakes.

I am looking to buy a pair of Floor standing speakers. The Energy RC 50 (Black). Unfortunately this is a discontinued product and is not available with even the main distributor in India.

I am however sure someone somewhere will have some information on how n where I can get them in India.

I am from Mumbai so any options?.

Please help.

Visit Atria Mall, Worli. Ask Mr. Sameer of THUMP on the 2nd floor, they deal with Energy Speakers, had auditioned the RC50's in october '10 there.

BTW, why the RC50's??? Have you auditioned them & set your heart on them or just like that? What about the amp/source that will be paired with these speakers?

Thanks denom, i have auditioned the RC 50 at Atria Mall itself. And apparently even the display piece has been sold. I spoke to even the owner of the place who is the main distributor of Energy for entire India i was told and he also said that since it is a discontinued model there is no way I cud get those speakers thru him at least. Hence my search all around the town has begun n so far i am still empty handed.

I have spoken to a couple of guys n they have also checked with Mr. Rajesh only (owner n distributer of Energy).

Is there any place else where i could probably get them

Why dont you try source them from abroad ? There shld be some nice deals on them if you search online...

i have gone to a couple of places n auditioned other stuff as well.. n the sound of the RC 50 is way way better than ne thing else i have heard (personal choice). Hence my heart is set on them.

The amp paired with the speakers whn i heard them was the Pioneer VSX-920 (I plan to get this amp as well)...

I have heard the Paradim Monior 7, Dali Ikon 6, a couple of Klipsch, some Jamo's, Monitor audio, Bose, JBL as well ... but the RC-50 sound rocking.. its got the thump which i love, even instrumental music, vocals etc the RC 50 handles really well... i just love those speakers n kinda gettin desperate to get them...

Yea i have checked online as well (Vann's) in the US has the speakers. The problem is that they ship it only in the US. Now getting it down from there is where I am a bit worried cuz of damage during shipping etc... besides i have never done something like that before so a lil scared to import.

The speakers weigh 23.2 kgs per tower (so packing will be another 2 kgs i think).. a total of 50 Kgs to be shipped ...man that scares me... hence was looking for options here in India (If possible)..

Why don't you buy them there? I don't know how good the site is, but that is an option.
As owner of a complete Energy RC system (RC70s, LCR and RC-R), I can vouch they are amazing speakers for HT and music. They really shine for music as they have a very smooth tweeter, not at all harsh. Their construction is of very high quality - furniture grade wood. They have been selling at almost 70% discount for the past few months in the US as Energy has discontinued the RC series and introduced the new Veritas series. At MRP, they were considered the best sub $5000 speakers by many and at the discounted prices, they are unbeatable. Get them while you can.
Btw, I stay in the US, therefore it was easy getting them here.
