Favourite speakers under INR 20k

@manu - if you're a bass head don't go for the Ushers, by all means go for the Wharfedale 10.2 i am sure it will make you more happy than the Ushers. I bought the Ushers frmo ARN systems in Bangalore for 22k.

@anirvan - the 5205 AVR is rated at 100W one channel driven.......so i can guess conservatively that with two channels driven it would be more like 50W (i am not sure if it works that way, but i'm just guessing). 50W is the rated power for the Ushers, so I think it should, make a good match. And it runs very well with the 7W of my tripath, so i don't think the power of the amp should be a concern. Do try and audition if you can though.

The wattage of the speaker refers to the max power of amp that can be safely connected to the speaker, so lesser power amps should drive the same without any issues.

They still do. I auditioned one month back at their shop/factory in Mahim (Mumbai).

hey murali, my doubt was actually with regard to how a "one channel" driven watts-per-channel rating of a multi-channel translates to real world output with all channels driven, or two channels driven....whether there's a broad thumb-rule that can be used or whether it just varies from amp to amp.

very interesting, i didn't know any Klipsch floorstanders were available for that price range, how do they sound? I listened to a Klipsch bookshelf in the same price range and was not a big fan of the sound, but I've heard that the synergy floorstanders are quite good.

Really, where from? I thought klipsch dont sell anything cheap in india :s The onkyo store I went to quoted me 64k for a klipsch f3 or f4 I think. Didnt like the sound much.

I have a pair of F1's and quite like the sound.Using them as fronts for my HT.The only distributor of Klipsch was in cal,dunno if he is still a distributor.I realised that these puppys need plenty of break in time.The f1s with just a 6.5 inch woofer seriously blow my brain with the kind of bass extension they manage to generate.The soundstage is pretty nice and wide thanks to the tactrix horn.
For the rest of the HT(5.1) I use the Klipsch Synergy Quintet II and a Klipsch RW-12 Sub.
I think he deals in Paradigm now.Heard the S8's a while back ,incredible.
