FiiO EH13 - Build Quality, Aesthetics, Fit & Finish

While Eh13 is light weight (which I like), build quality is decent and uses some kind of plastic, metal and padding providing decent solid frame with comfort to use.
It neither looks and feels cheap, nor premium. However, it’s pretty good for the price.
I found headband padding or cushion quite comfortable but cannot say how comfortable would it be in warmer weather.
Headband size is easy to adjust and there are markings/numbers making it easy to remember your preferred size position.
Ear cups are oval shared and have foldable adjustments which makes it easy to carry.
Shape, depth and cushion padding on ear cups should make it better suited for different ear sizes. Please check the dimensions if you are particular about length, width and depth of cups.
You can notice the R / L markings for easy identification, which is nice.
Fiio EH13 – In Operation
Easy to pair & connect, I had no issues connecting it to different devices like iPhone, android TV and Windows laptop.
I did not intend to but I paired it first with iPhone while I needed to join a teams meeting from phone and first thing I noticed was very clean and neutral voice quality. Normally such BT headphones would have slightly bass heavy tonal presence as I have noticed with many other headphones I have but EH13 gave me first impression of Plantronics like tonality on teams meeting.
Microphone worked nicely as I asked other participants how clear my voice is to them and they all confirmed it was nice and clear.
It was about 2-hour long teams meeting and I literally forgot I am not using my dedicated 3 times more expensive teams certified headphone. It is quite light weight and comfortable headset to wear for longer sessions.
Switching to music & movies, felt like something needs to be adjusted because I prefer slightly warmer sound with slightly more base & mid-base presence while it was slightly leaner to begin with for my taste.
Having a look at Fiio Control App – This is where you transform EH13 completely
Fiio Control app discovered EH13 quickly and presented useful information on front page.
- Mode: Noise Cancelling – ANC ON
- Mode: Close – ANC OFF
- Mode: Leak Through Mode – Transparency ON
- Bluetooth Codecs: LDAC, AAC
Fiio Control App > Equalizer
Going to equalizer, it shows a default DSP curve but notice that Equalizer shows disabled.
I have this feeling that this might be the default settings most likely.
You can enable the equalizer here and then enable pre-defined EQ or your custom adjusted.
Notice the upper tabs after enabling equalizer: AutoEQ, Local, Selected & Official.
You can access community created EQ profiles onto the tab – Selected and down the ones you like or want to try. Downloaded EQ profiles then appear on the tab – Local.
You can apply, test and adjust EQ profiles as you like.
These features are very useful and completely transform the tonal character of this headphone.
Now you aren’t relying on factory tuning and adjusting is according to your preference. You can test changes in real time and find what’s best to your likings.
For instance, I have been using EQ OFF i.e., default tuning for calling or meetings while couple of different EQ profiles for music and movies.

PEQ gives highest level of control to adjust sound quality and character.
Summarizing my observations & thoughts........
I have this Fiio EH13 in hand which is 59.99$ headphone, available for 49.99$ today (3rd April 2026) on Amazon.
It has more than decent build quality and comfort, Bluetooth and wired connectivity, Auto & manual EQ features along with advanced PEQ controls.
ANC worked really well with 3 different levels of controls, Bluetooth connectivity remained stable in my 3-4 weeks of use till now, sound quality is adjustable with EQ profiles for different used cases and all the features are so easy to control.
I really don’t know what to complain about here. Personally I liked it so much that I use it for my work meetings as well as music/movie when I need headphones.
