Floor Standing Speaker Advice

Today I auditioned Wharfdale 10.7, Paradigm monitor 9 as well as paradigm studio 100. I am not satisfied with both wharfdale and paradigm monitor 9. But I auditioned Monitor rx6 and rx8. Its really superb. Friends please share your experience and opinions about monitor rx series. I hope owners who monitor audio able to give a very good, clear review. Please share your opinions.

You seem to have great setup , but 32" display?. If I were you, I would upgrade my display first to a 50 incher or higher...

Back to topic, for your stereo experience,I'd suggest you to split that 80k and buy a stereo/integrated amp and a pair of good bookshelf or floorstanding speakers.

Look for preowned Dynaudio (bookshelf or floorstanding) also.

Badri,

Don't be under the illusion of only floorstanders, if your priority is clearly for Music and Movies.Some of bookshelves like Usher can beat most of the floorstanders

Regarding speakers you can audition the following at Decibels Chennai

PSB Image
Epos EPIC and M(M12i, M16i, M22i).



For example buying together M12i and M8i(Center channel) should give you an ultimate combination in terms of music and movies

Also when you are looking for a combination in terms of movies, please be careful of impedance and matching

Most of good speakers are in 4ohm range

My personal experience these days home theater receivers cant match upto stereo experience, unless you have money to shell out on Krell or Cary or Arcam


If you have decided Denon 4311 is the way to go then try to audition new KEF Q*** or B&W or Monitor Silver or Bronze Package or Heco from Germany

Thanks Venkat. You know what would be the best price for EPOS m22i? And in chennai where would i get? Is it possible to get Aperion or Axiom in India? Is B&W is availble in chennai?

You might also wanna give Klipsch a try at Decibels, their Reference Series is simply put great.
You are right with Paradigms, even i heard the Mointor 7, 9 recently and they did sound bad.

Hi all,
I planned to buy denon 4311. But last minute change, i bought onky 5008. Its also superb. Really i can feel the difference. Earlier I had Onkyo hts9300thx. It was my first home theatre. Now i upgraded it to 5008. I dont have good speakers now. Currently I am using old htib's speaker package. Its not bad for time being. I like to upgrade my speaker package. First start with Front floor standing speakers. And i have issues with configuring new receiver. Looking for your help. Please give me your advice.

Hi All,
I got Onkyo tx-nr 5008 av. I like to add floorstanders to the av. I am looking for MA RX6 or Jamo c607. But no idea how those will match with Onkyo. Mainly for music and as well as movie too but not much. Looking for your suggestion that which speaker would suit onkyo 5008? Can anyone suggest me which speaker well pair with Onkyo 5008?
