FM tuner with digital or Coaxial output

I am not saying that all the tuners are bad. You might get lucky if you find a decent one. My peculiar problem is that i live in a shadow of hills around Thane. These tuners can catch signals in Mumbai itself but the same give lot of static in & around my place which is around 50 Kms from Mumbai.

A quick look at Google Maps suggests that it is Parsik Hill, and not Thane hills, that is robbing you of your line of sight. Have a look at the map below. All FM transmitters in Mumbai are on the Doordarshan tower at Worli. Whatever signal you are able to receive in Kalyan is likely to be only the reflected signals and not direct signals, since Parsik Hills are about 235 m high (green area around Airoli, Ghansoli and Mumbra).
