Neil Young doesn't need any introductions to any one who has a good taste in music, does he? The legend has been a key proponent of making people realize the worth of listening to high resolution music. Most of his fans would know about the Pono venture.
Another, extremely painstakingly and thoroughly executed project has been executed by Young here: www.neilyoungarchives.com .
The archive lists his complete catalogue (almost well, as due to some copyright concerns probably, some tracks might be missing) with a video game menu like UI, many interesting video footages, release notes, etc.. It almost feels like opening an amazing vinyl boxset.
The quality conscious genius has uploaded all the content in Hi-Res format and compressed versions too. The hi-res versions stream just fine with a decent broadband connection. And guess what, all the content is Free for now. At least. I compared the hi-res versions of some albums vs the Pono remasters that I have and the streaming outplayed the Pono Flacs!! It is a great effort by the man and all his fans should give it a go.
