Frugal Horn MK3 - MA CHR-70A

Looking Great!!
Placement seems very close to the wall, does this affect the sound signature??

Thanks, no I feel it actually gives very good/tight bass with this placing and as usual the FH has a great sound stage with very good mids and vocals.

Great work dude...Keep up the good work.

For the finish you may consider Clear matte PU.

Hope to see the finished work very soon.

A small update on my FH's. During the end of last year in one of my trips to abroad got hold of a HiVi TN28 tweeters pair which I thought of pairing it with my Frugal Horns as some people have done to augment the upper frequencies. And below is my effort on making them with a 2.2uf cap and also a Monacor L-PAD attenuator which one of my friend brought from London last month. I have connected the cap and the attenuator inside the backside of the FH behind the terminals after hearing multiple times with different songs and adjusted for the right combination which I like. I feel it has given the upper range a good amount of range especially with the female vocals.

The tweeter looks beautiful with the perfect matching with the colour tone with the CHR70 drivers. And the wiring for the tweeter is below it drilled on the top with the perfect fit. And now the pictures :)

Is the enclosure openable? Waiting for more details on the upgrade.

The enclosure is completed sealed but I put in the attenuator with the capacitor and the other wiring right behind the speaker terminals. I adjusted the stuffing from the front baffle. The speaker terminal opening is very small with the attenuator exactly fitting in with a tight squeeze because of my hands :)

Superb execution!
Some more detail description of your speaker performance is earnestly requested.

Thanks Sumanta. Regarding the performance I liked it the way it gels with the full ranger and the attenuator volume is kept just slightly so that the tweeter does not over power the CHR70. I did this with my own hearing and the way I liked it by hearing the songs which I frequently listen to especially Bryan Adams, Eric Clapton and Sufiana FLAC songs. I still could hear a slight hiss sound from the tweeter when no song is being played but not from a distance only if I sit very close to it. Not sure what the issue is and I am yet to figure out why the hissing sound comes up.
I kept the attenuator right behind the speaker terminals as I can just open up the terminals and use a screw driver to adjust the impedence while the song is being played. Because of the length of the holder of the attenuator being shorter I cannot drill a hole to accommodate the plug which came with the kit. The thickness of the MDF that I used is around 19mm but the attenuator pin is shorter by around 1 to 2 mm. Initially thought of handing it behind but the aesthetic appearance will look bad hence enclosed it inside the cabinet. I used the pins to hold the attenuator at the center panel of the cabinet.
