Seniors,

How to identify a full range speaker driver by visual checks ?
Any tests possible to identify a full range driver with a pc and miltimeter ?

Full range drivers are few and further apart. The larger cones have a good low end but lack details on higher octaves due to beaming issues. Smaller cones tend to bottom out early.
The trick is in understanding the T/S parameters and design the enclosure accordingly.
One big advantage is in not bothering about crossover implications.

If you are having a driver with nothing written on it, not even a manufacturer name, then above replies should work.

So called full rangers (wide band drivers)are best to be identified as suitable or not for your purpose is by trying a pilot run with temporary build or pseudo enclosures.
I do a dry test by tapping the cone lightly to understand its resonance frequency, damping of the driver. A dual cone (whizzer) is also a proof of it being a wide band driver.
