Generic PC Configuration Discussion

Is there some laptop models that is effectively as a noise free fanless desktop implementation. How would u rate something like a mac mini in this regard??

I bought a think pad T61 with 4gb ram and about 120gb HDD and a core2duo CPU from newegg. Only paid $180 for it. This was in the US though. Nice thing about old Think pads is excellent build quality and serviceability/upgradability.

Just bumping up an old thread.
Now, for a PC setup you need a DAC and a connection between the two which is most usually a USB cable. Need cable suggestions for good audio.

My configuration is:
Cabinet: Antec ISK 110 Vesa Mini ITX Case With 90W Power Adapter
MoBo: Asus J1800I-C 8GB DDR3 Intel Motherboard
RAM: G.skill 8GB (4GB x 2) DDR3 1333MHz Laptop RAM (F3-1333C9S-4GSL)
SSD: Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO MZ-7TE120BW
ODD: Asus 8X Slim External DVD Drive - Black (SDRW-08D2S-U LITE)
HDD: WD My Passport Ultra 1TB Portable External Hard Drive

I will get a linear power supply, possibly the HDPlex one. Any suggestions here?
Me drooling over the Streacom cases as well, Hydra. :licklips:
Might just get one, you never know! Or even an HDPlex one.
