Getting Aqua La Scala Mkii or a Metrum Pavane

Finally getting into computer audio. R2R configuration is what i have decided on based on my past listening experiences. After due research, its come down to Aqua La Scala Mkii or the Metrum Pavane. Will hopefully close on one by this weekend.

It has quite a bit of connection options

I2s or aes is a better way of connecting a transport to a dac than Spdif. Dual aes with word lock is even better but I don't think Scala supports dual aes or word clock. So to that extent it lags behind a top notch dac

The Esoteric stuff I have owned in the past were all R2R

There is also the Metrum hex which is a much cheaper option since there is a discount being offered which makes it very attractive.

I am a bit lost. I think i will wait for some more certainty in the computer audio. It was a rush of blood. But some of my friends in the know are advising me against it. They feel i will not be happy with the sound quality of computer audio.
