Getting Denon 3311CI from US need help

Hi,
Hey I need suggestion on this, one of my friend from US is getting for me Manufacturer Refurbished Denon AVR-3311CI from US for $400 from a authorized Denon Dealer , please let me know more about this model also will this work with step down voltage convertor in India, I called to Profx Hyderabad showroom, they said its not advisable to get Receiver from US because we need to run them using step down voltage convertor because of that receiver might get damage.

Get a good step down voltage converter , and if you do a search on this forumn ,indeed there would've quite a few discussions on step down voltage converter .
Just being inquisitive , what speakers you plan to use with yr amp?

Good price and you should consider it seriously. 400x57= 22800

I called to Profx Hyderabad showroom, they said its not advisable to get Receiver from US because we need to run them using step down voltage convertor because of that receiver might get damage.

A bunch of bull and crap .......
There are a lot of FM's who use AVR's and other HiFI equipment with step down converters.

I am very new to this forum, but I will search for step down converter related threads in site, I am considering Jamo or Klipsch speakers, please suggest if you have any thing in mind for this model.

Hey Siva..
I ve recently purchase an AVR from US and ofcourse Ive got a Step down for it.. and it works fine and many people here have vouched of a problem free life from several years... The deal is where from youd get the Step down and what vA would it be of...!!! try Vector audio on tops the Subway sandwhich buildingsolutions @ Nagarjuna Circle but do be cautious!!!

Get a good step down transformer of the isolation type from a reputed maker with enough "headroom" meaning enough VA and you should be in business.

Since 1992, i.e. almost 20 yrs now, I have personally been using AV Receivers brought from the US without any problems whatsoever. Anyone who tells you that you will face problems using a US AV Receiver in India, is either totally ignorant or has a vested interest in misleading you.
