glasswool in bangalore

i called them up, they dont sell in retail. Rs.33/kg and min. order is 25kg. so it will be Rs.825. anybody interested to share?
I think you may be mistaken.

Glasswool is sold in Sq.Mts and not per Kg. About the numbers you heard on the phone, they are density of Glasswool that is 33kgm3 (Kg per meter cube). 25kgm3 is lesser density than 33. I have not bought glasswool in a while now, not sure about pricing.

Soundnovice-while this is not directly related to your need for fibreglass, you need to read up a bit on stuffing( using fibreglass/poly) and damping of walls of the enclosure, which is lining the inner walls with felt, eggcrate foam, tar felt etc. You are referring to stuffing in your post.

eggcrate foam, tar felt...!!?
never heard of them. pls give some pointers about these materials.

Read up lots of info available if you read up..

now i am sufficiently educated on egg crate foam. i believe attaching this on innerwalls is a good way of reducing box resonance and standing waves. now i need to know in Banglore, where can i buy them? from another thread i got link to sound proofing materials which more or less look like eggcrate foam. but not sure if the pricing is high.

have anybody used them?

try any mattress making shop. I've seen eggcrate foam with them. Check the porosity because what you need is open cell foam - if you put the foam to your mouth and blow air through it the air should blow through easily - if it does, thats what you want.

@Anil: thanks for providing me the glasswool.
now the booming sound has disappeared :)
i damped the innerwalls with layer of glasswool and stuffed some in the cabinet behind woofers.

I have about 20 kg of acoustic quality glass wool (fibre glass) suitable for use in loudspeakers.

1) Price: Rs 50/kg
2) No minimum quantity
3) You will have to make your own arrangements to pick it up from my place in Bangalore.

If anyone is interested please send me a PM.

Thanks,

vkj
