Good basic amplifier for Rs 850 [Cemex brand]

Here you go...
One correction..I opened the amp out of curiosity and found it to be some Class AB IC amp. I don't know if they are LA4440s. Not transistors as I had expected. Nevertheless, sounds great.
@Ispahir ... I had a Lepy LP7 amp, which uses a TDA amp (class AB I think). They didn't sound good enough for my Samsung speakers. I tried a TPA3116 class D amp, but wasn't satisfied either.

In my college days, I had bought a stereo cassette player amplifier of this brand (Cemex) which costed me around Rs2200/-. after few days got to know transistor based amps sound better than IC based, so I sold it and bought another cassette player amplifier of PHX brand and paired with speakers of DASH brand. Was so much happy with that setup. All those were from local market, but yes in market, I was seeing 60-70% of amplifiers and stereo speakers were seen from these brands, After leaving my hometown, I never heard the name of those brands anymore. :(

I am currently using some really cheap amps paired with mid-range speakers.
To be honest, other than some white noise at idle (audible if you keep your ears next to the tweeter), I am hard pressed to spot a major difference between these cheap class D amps and much more expensive ones at regular listening volumes.

Details in my sig below - the cheapest of the lot is TPA3116D2 which comes for <1000 INR
The baseline for reference is a Marantz Dual mono PM17SA amp which had cost me a pretty penny - although in its defense, it's 10+ years old now and will probably last till I die :p

@superczar : what kind of power supply do you use for the TPA3116D2 amp? SMPS or linear? Does the amp have bass and treble controls? I used a laptop adaptor - maybe that's why it didn't sound great.
This is the board I use
The chip is capable but the associated parts on most boards on AE are not
Also, bass & treble controls are possibly introducing some degree of imbalance for you.
The power supply I am using is a smps repurposed from a very old Mac mini
