So today morning, I wake up, switch on my STB and voila - a message that says 'Firmware Upgraded'!

Apparently they pushed an upgrade overnight!

I have the white-coloued (latest model) STB from Videocon.

So far (and admittedly I haven't really checked out in detail), I see just cosmetic changes (change in menu colors etc.)

Anybody notice anything else? Let's use this thread to post!

I feel the gui is now more sluggish. Could not find any additional features rather than the cosmetic changes.

I noticed too, that the UI has become a lot more sluggish. And Videocon, if you are reading this, what's with the firmware swallowing keypresses. Sometimes I have to press a key at least three times to get it to register where earlier it sometimes needed one or two key presses. Videocon ought to concentrate on addressing these issues in their firmware updates and then get to the cosmetic changes.

Also, anyone else encounter an issue when the scheduled recordings suddenly disappear? I've also noticed that the STB reboots every now and then during the day on it's own. Not sure if it's the recent firmware updates or whether the STB is on it's way to going kaput. If I am the only one with these issues, I think it's time to raise a service request and get a replacement STB.

I also have problem with keypress. Have to press the keys two three times to get response, though not always. Didn't notice rebooting problem, but I found the STB becomes unresponsive after a few hours and I have to turn off the power supply.

I haven't noticed. Was this firmware update happened automatically?
What is the latest firmware version.?

I noticed that when selecting the Record Library the STB would refuse to navigate into it no matter how many keypresses I gave it. Anymore and I would have pushed a hole in the damn remote! Powered off and powered on the STB and it then worked. Didn't give it a thought then, but it is beginning to look like Videocon have done something screwy with their latest firmware update.

Yes, auto-update. AFAIK, there is no way to opt out of the firmware updates. Or is there?

Hey the keystroke dropping thing, I dont think its a firmware issue. Its a hardware issue. It qas happening on the older fw too. It stopped for about 10 days after my remote conked off and was replaced!

I too experienced the rebooting problem yesterday. While skipping channels, the box became unresponsive and after a few minutes it rebooted.

the new firmware is crap...it takes 4-5 sec to change the channels sumtimes...dnt know wats wid dese videocon guyz, dere evry upgrade makes things worse

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
