Group buy Epson TW8000 Mumbai.

Hi,

I am new here so don't understand how this works.

Can you please advise how can I also benefit from this as I would like to buy one. How and when do I pay.

Thanking in advance.

Well, the pricing is out.
Epson 3020 - $1599
Epson 5020 - $2599
Epson 6020 - $3499

Not sure what the prices for India will be. But these prices are similar to last years 3010/5010. So, either 3010/5010 should come down in price or wait for new years models because you get 2 free pairs of 3d glasses.

In India, even Epson 5010 (TW8000) hasn't yet been properly released. If one waits for 5020 equivalent here in India, it will be at least 9-12 months wait. I think that TW8000 prices will come down only when 5020 gets properly released in India.
Also, considering that 5020 enhancements over 5010 are minor, I would say its still not a bad decision for Indian residents to buy Tw8000 today.

If anyone interested in group buy, please email([email protected]) or contact me on - 9820998804
This is not an official HFV Groupbuy... It is basically organized by one of the members(whose contact info I have quoted & is also in the 1st post of this thread)... Basically what happens is u ppl negotiate with the dealer or the company as a group to get a better rate... When the rate is finalized & the projectors are in stock u basically pay the dealer/company directly & pick it up from him or have it delivered... Contact FM Amandalia for more details...

The timing really sucks for u guys but I feel this might be a good thing... 1 thing that u could do is try & pressure Epson into bundling 2 pairs of 3D glasses with the TW8000... I was gonna try that when I was trying for a TW6000 groupbuy but I didnt have enough ppl in that groupbuy(basically just me & a Doctor from Chhattisgarh)... But it seems like u guys are gathering quite a few ppl for this groupbuy :) ... I have no qualms about buying an older model(I myself just bought a 8700UB which is sitting in the US w8ing to be brought back to India) but u should be able to get the older model at the discounted rate compared to the latest model...

Looks like you missed the point of my post :-)
5020 has just been unveiled, it hasn't been even released yet. Its Asian counterpart's model name hasn't even been announced yet. So there is hardly any problem with our timing of projector buying. By the time 5020's equivalent projector becomes readily available in India in 2013, next year's model's will be ready for unveiling in US which will be even better than 5020. So the cycle never ends and one doesn't get any younger. Instead, one needs to jump off, make a pick and stick with decision.
5010/TW8000 is a tried and tested projector which is good enough for all my needs. I will rather not sacrifice an year of viewing fun waiting for extra features that I may or may not find useful.

Has anyone part of this group buy received the projector yet? Please do share your experience!

Mine is on the way. Supposed to be delivered today. But due to bandh in Bangalore, it is expected on Monday.

Will let you guys know once its reached.

I have just bought tw8000 from pune yesterday only :yahoo:.

I have two questions ?

Do you guys know
Why Epson india shows tw8000 model as END of Life Product?
How to register the product then?;)
Why only single 3d glass provided inside and not the set of 2?

1) TW8000 is a 2012 product... They are gonna launch their 2013 line soon, so technically it is a End of Life product...
2) Dont know... You should call up the Epson Helpline for info on that...
3) You were provided with one pair of 3D glasses??? As far as I knew The TW8000 didnt actually come with a free pair of glasses... Consider urself lucky...

BTW at what price did u get it for???

I got my TW8000. It just reached my home. :yahoo: I am in the office right now. I will check it out the PJ in the evening and and give an update.
