Group buy Epson TW8000 Mumbai.

1) TW8000 is a 2012 product... They are gonna launch their 2013 line soon, so technically it is a End of Life product...
2) Dont know... You should call up the Epson Helpline for info on that...
3) You were provided with one pair of 3D glasses??? As far as I knew The TW8000 didnt actually come with a free pair of glasses... Consider urself lucky...

BTW at what price did u get it for???

Thanks Rajdeep,

I got it for 1.40 all inclusive from dealer here.

Even I couldn't find it in Epson India site. I just did a quick glance in the projector section and couldn't find it either.

Its not avalialbe in the projectors category,
You have to search the model number in the search bar.
But there it show END Of LIFE product. hence no support.

When r u installing the projector?
can you call me up on my cell - "five times eight - hundred - forty". have some questions.

-John.

Name of dealer if it's other than varay... Would be a good option for negotiating when someone wants an epson projector :) ...

It is varay..

We got better rates from Exodus than Varay.

I am srry I assumed it was Varay that u guys got the projectors from as I had enquired in the past & was told that u guys were buying from Varay... Anyway now that ur projectors have started being delivered could u pls share the price at which u guys bought in the group buy from Exodus... It would be very helpful while negotiating for the couple of other members who want to buy it now...

1.2L + tax.

1.2L + tax.

Can anyone update how to buy from Exodus? Address? Contact Nos? Website link?

Also those who bought the piece ..what screen are you using it on? Due to space limitations I might have to settle either for a 84 inch pull down (manual or electric) or max 92 inch one

Which particular brand or piece would you guys recommend?

I am taking a wild guess but this might be them
Exodus Technologies

PS What is the breath of ur room... A 100in screen is around 7.5 ft long... BTW I have found a very good value for money option for screens which is only a little bit costlier than manual but a lot cheaper than Motorized with remote... There is this company that sells these Motorized screens which do not have a RF remote... Instead they have a switch board that u can fix to the wall near ur seating space to control the screen... a 92in motorized will cost 10k while the 100in & 110in will cost 11k & 12k respectively... Try to get the absolute largest size u can find... BTW the Epson TW8000 might be a overkill for ur screen size... Projectors like these demand a 120in+ screen to really shine... Research before u buy :)...

Thanks for the reply Rajadeep and for suggesting about the motorized screens :) Sounds interesting and they are fitting well in my budget as well...What is their gain? r they 1.1? or 1.3? I am shifting to a new place and I have two options to convert any of the extra 2 bedrooms apart from my master bedroom into a home theater room...one room is 13 X 10 while the second room is 13.9 X 11 to be exact. For some reason I was skeptical about a large screen of say 100 inch plus. You are suggesting bigger is better then I really am giving it a thought. I have a friend in Europe who has purchased the Epson TW8000 and enjoys it on a 92 inch screen ..Unfortunately I cannot find a demo out here to actually check it. I don't want to compromise on the quality of the product I am buying. After the little research I have done so far, I found this projector the best. While its some what stretching my original budget..I am seriously thinking of going for it now.

I got TW8000 for a 150" 16x9 screen in a 24x15.7 dedicated HT room without any ambient light. I took TW8000 for its high lumen output and it will help me in watching 3D movies on a 150" screen. I think for your room size, TW6000 will work well too. But no harm in going for TW8000, if you have the budget :).

I may be sounding dumb... but we can use TW8000 with a low brightness or eco mode in a small room right? That would increase the lamp life as well right ?

Thanks John :)

Woohooo it must be an awesome experience watching a 3D movie in such a set up!
Haha but will the 3D quality be affected while watching in eco mode? or eco mode not available fr 3D?

You are confused, buddy! TW8000 is listed properly in Epson India website. Navigate like this -
Products > Projectors > Home theater
Here is the link -
Epson EH-TW8000

John,

I am watching 150" at eco mode, at 1.1 gain screen. Approx 1000 hrs lamp usage and its still plenty bright. That's for 2D though. When you are in 3D, projector puts the lamp in high mode automatically, we don't have a choice of putting it back on eco. 3D needs all the light it can get. I don't think you will put it in eco even if an option were to be present. ;)

Raj,

Can you please share with us the details of the screen manufactures/company ? I would really like to get in touch with them to see if they provide their screens in Bangalore. I am looking for fixed screen of size 150".

Thanks,
John.
