Got mail from Profx distributer that he will be checking with headoffice to confirm if the price can be brought close to 35k

Guys.... Don't want to ruffle any feathers here.

But with the Marantz SR5006 available for 40k on HFV GroupGuy. Which is on par with American/ Global prices.

Its worth a serious consider.

--my 2 cents--

Hi Flash,

Was going to say the same thing but people do not like the marantz AVR's for movies experience as the common view is that Marantz are 'musical' AVR's & that they do not give the movie viewers the 'kick' they are wanting, go figure

Relax brother Denom, nobody means any disrespect to you. I am sure all agree that so far the offer you got for the group is the best. But to seek more for less is typically human (and dare I say Indian ;) )

Maybe you can give the group a couple more days for them to reassure themselves that they are getting the best possible deal. We all know how disturbing Cognitive Dissonance can be once the money has parted hands

Am totally relaxed bro Soulforged, I know where you are coming from. I said what I had to say. Thanks for using a couple of big words like 'Cognitive Dissonance' - checked the dictionary to find out what it means :p Good choice of words, keep 'em coming

Quite a few suffer from 'CD' in the AV World !

Whoz the horse ?

People who have a belief about something or some product without actually using it or experiencing it first hand and irrespective of what advise is given they will never bulge from what is hardwired in their brain

Wel well.. DOnt consider me the horse :ohyeah: I also mentioned "COrrect me if I am wrong ":rolleyes:

Hemant, Noone pointing out to you.....
You are correct with the general perception

For Movies with the 3 big brands

First Place - Onkyo
Second Place - Yamaha
Close Second - Denon
Third Place - Marantz

Denon 1912 vs Marantz SR 5006 feature vs feature ?????
Would personally like to know what ""stuffs"" is missing on the Marantz

How is the auto-calibration in Marantz?

Denon has Audessey MultiEQ which is supposed to be great...

Hi Guys,

I just saw a group buy on Marantz 5006 at 40k. Can any expert guide me about the differences between Denon 1912 and Marantz 5006 AVR. As I have mentioned in my earlier post, I am getting a pioneer SP-PK 51 FS speaker system. I am also buying a samsung PS51D550. Which of the above two mentioned AVR's would go best with these speakers? This is my first home theatre set up, so need advice.

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone clarify whether denon 1912 have audyssey multiEQ or MultiEQ XT. As i've read in avs forum that asia model comes with multiEQ XT.

This is the statement in avsforum:
"g. USA/CA vs. Europe/Asia Pacific Models: Although the USA/CA and Europe/Asia Pacific models are very similar, one noted difference is the Europe/Asia Pacific 1912 also includes a Source Select knob and Audyssey MultEQ XT (due to there being no 2112 model outside of the USA). Also note there is a 2 digit code on the OEM shipping box with the model number that identifies the region of the AVR (eg. 1912 E3): EU or E3 = USA, EC = Canada, E1 = Asia, E2 = Europe, and EA = Australia."

Hi all,

Trust me when I say that the price quoted is the best, as the market for the popular entry & mid level Denon AVR's is so cut throat that these guys are making wafer thin margins. The rate of 35.5k is the best that is achieved as my source will never cheat me & is given in good faith thats why he is comfortable in giving such a price for 1 or 100 pcs. Has anyone got a better price with B&W than this so far???? Answer is NO!

If prospective buyers thinking that they can get better price, well then keep waiting. Choice is entirely yours.

There may be a couple of other deals in the anvil also but whats the point of offering them as all people do in the forum is talk & NOT buy anything. For me its my hobby to pursue a good deal & oblige fellow FM's to get the benefits. Rest is upto them.
+1 to what he said
when I want to purchase 1912
price gave by denom was really unbeatable
I checked almost everywhere.
35.5k is very decent price with B&W.Plus it is introduce
by our fm so we don't have to worry. I bought my 1912 1 week back
for 37k otherwise I will surely pick it up for 35.5k
