Has anyone tried a LG LED projector (hs201 or hx301)

Folks,

I am dead set on buying a lg led projector. The long bulb life (~30,000 hrs) and low power consumption won me over. Have to choose between hs201 and hx301. Will appreciate if you can help me make a decision. Points I am looking for:

- PQ comparison besides resolution [hs201 is 800X600; hx301 is 1024X768 - My viewing distance is 10-12 feet]
- connectivity options (does any of them have s-video in? I know that they both have 1 HDMI input)
- Is a premium of 17K (see the quotes below) worth for 1024X768 over 800X600?
- Any differences between US and Indian model of hs201? (US model has got decent reviews on avsforum - "http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1193908")
- And anything else that you feel is important to share.

price quote I got in bangalore:
hs201 - 43K
hx301 - 60K (available from Aug 2010 end)

I own this PJ from June 2010, and I am impressed with the picture quality. I project from 10 feet and get an image of 81 inches diagonal.

I have not compared hs201 and Hx300.

HS201 does not have s-video in.

I believe 17k is too much a premium for a small improvement in lumen and resolution. In a few years we will definitely see more lumens and native 1080p LED PJs. That would be the time to upgrade. With that 17k saved, you can upgrade your HT system (my thoughts).

I got a quote of 48k in Calicut, so i bought HS201 along with 25-feet HDMI cable from Amazon through borderlinx and got it shipped for 34k.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on hs201. I changed my mind after starting this thread. I will wait for 1080p LED projectors (hopefully they will be out by end of 2011). For now, I bought a 50" full hd Plasma and quite happy with its performance.

Past 6 months I have been using the hx301. Its wonderful performance. I connect to DVD Player, TV Set top box, laptop, tablet pc, handycam etc.

Got AAXA M2 for $330 from US. Comparable to hs201 but way cheaper.
